There are several things which can contribute to fungus activity on your lawn such as afternoon and evening rainfall, mowing with a dull blade, infrequent mowing while not bagging clippings and hot, humid weather. Some varieties of turf grasses are simply more susceptible to fungus activity than others, and they tend to have fungus problems even under proper cultural practices. Some fungi merely make your lawn look ugly. Others, however, will cause irreparable damage and death to your lawn. For this reason, we recommend protecting your lawn with our Preventative Fungicide Program.

These Programs consists of applications of contact and systemic fungicides. The treatments are applied at a preventative rate on a timely basis throughout the fungus season. Another benefit of the Preventative Fungicide Program over simply applying fungicides is the reduction of the spread of the fungus throughout the lawn. Keep in mind that although fungicides will kill the fungus that is currently active in your lawn, they can only protect the lawn for a certain period of time. If conditions exist that are conducive to fungus activity more fungus can and will invade and spread through the lawn. The fungus will lie dormant through the coming cold season, and then reactivate in all the areas it had spread to the previous season.
